This video is of an original song, written and performed by my son, Jeremiah at Open Mic Night at our home church. This is a raw piece that speaks to some issues that teenagers face today (concerning peer pressure). It’s for those that have grown up in a “good” christian home but they are trying so hard to fit in, and are pretending to be something that they are not. #hard #gangsta(when in reality, they are no where near) In this song, Jeremiah points his listeners to the Word and to Christ!!!!!

Here’s Why I decided to share this video: This was his first time rapping (not bad, taking on a new challenge).  Jeremiah wrote, “I don’t need to curse to get my point across, I got His Word to get my point across…. ”  He and his friends would be in the back seat of my car having a good time, free-styling, rapping! I must admit, I never saw this coming(smile). This Guy is Bold & Courageous and He delivered a powerful message through this song!!!! ‪#‎amazingGod‬ ‪#‎openmic‬‪#‎originalsong‬ ‪#‎grateful‬

My son is a writer of words y’all and I can’t wait to see what’s next with this kid. In this song the main characters are those that pretend to be hard while in school with the hopes of fitting in, but in actuality they are the exact opposite. Man, he told that story in such a moving way, and I for one, was impressed. Being a parent, requires us being all in. He is my youngest son, and I am not a big fan of rap, but I am all in. #parenting Watching, as my son, finds his voice, and expresses his truth! Watching as his love/hunger for the Lord, grows. Keep it up son…. Keep going after God! This blog is for you, Jeremiah! #thebestisyettocome #TrustHim #gratefulforourchurchfamily #raisingupthenextgenerationofleaders

Note: this is not the entire song, but a shorter version.
