As I sit here reflecting on the weeks/months gone by in 2019, I can’t help but express gratitude. God has been faithful and true to His word!
It was this time last year that we received word that “Change” was coming! Change, no matter who you are, or where you’ve come from can be very difficult & extremely uncomfortable (and if you’re not careful, can also bring lots of anxiety). But this change (for us), was necessary and brought about a “Peace” that surpassed all understanding (Phil 4:7).
We knew that some would not understand, and even still, others would work to ascribe motive (“nothing new”). People just want to understand why… But that answer is not always readily available. #GoingNotKnowing
We just knew that it was important for us to walk in radical obedience. For, If (we) were willing and obedient, we believed (according to His Word), that we would eat the good things of the land;” Isaiah 1:19 We were committed to being, “Yielded Vessels.”
What “Living A Life Without Limits,” mean to me; “Freedom!“
Recently, I spoke with a Parent, whose child was preparing to enter into full-time ministry. Their desire was not to enter into the most popular ministry (beautiful sanctuary, stunning building, as well as an abundance of workers), instead, it was to go to a place where they could make the most difference (and where there was a greater need – Not the popular choice, but the God-Ordained one | our sentiments exactly). #HisHandsHisFeet
We have to be careful not to allow the expectations of others to limit and/or cripple us (In Fear) from “moving forward.” Some will assume every right to place limits on you (that they are not even authorized to do). We must resist, and be committed to “Live A Life Without Limits!” We serve a limitless God after all, so why should we live with the limits placed on us by men.
“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
This is something that I have struggled with in the past; being a “People Pleaser.” Growing up, my mother would say; “I love you, but I at least want others to like you.” Important to Note: Growing up with that mindset can be very limiting. What happens (not if, but) when they don’t like you. If you are me, you think, “I’m going to make them like me.” And because of that, I was not living out of my “Truth,” but managing the expectations of others. That, right there, is bondage! As well as, unhealthy, but that was the environment that I created. #LikeMeLikeMe And if, I thought, they didn’t that affected me in a major way.
God knew that He had to break the back of that thing in my life. Fear of what others were thinking and/or what others were saying about me, had a profound impact on me and it should not have.. It was causing me to live a life with “man-made” limits.
God needed my undivided attention. He has it now. I only regret not giving it to him sooner.
Food For Thought: “Are you allowing the Lord to correct and adjust things in your life?” Or, “Are you allowing the fear of Man to keep you from reaching your full potential?” #ThinkAboutThat
I would hear the gossip about me (that others were, oh to willing to share), and it terrified me. No one ever really wants to be gossiped about, but no one is immune either…. If you’re not being talked about, then you are doing something wrong. We can’t help what others say/or imply about us. But, we can help how we respond.
I want to encourage you: “Live! Live A Life Without Limits!” And Remember, “Your Best Days Are Always Ahead!” #BelieveIt #ReceiveIt & #WalkItOut
